Johnny and Keisha made my night. Such awesome people! They know the true meaning of hospitality. I would recommend the Seahorse Tavern as you first choice for drinks, food, and music in Halifax!
I love this place. I loved it when it was on Argyle St and I think I like it more now that its under the Marquee. Always high quality musical entertainment in the offing. The Seahorse has a vibe all its own - its just one of those venues. The bar staff were really nice and were quick to sling drinks, and I was also really impressed by the tall dude doing security checking IDs and stuff. I think theyre subcontracted (shadow security) but he was INCREDIBLY polite and professional.
Fantastic little spot 2 blocks away from the Scotia Bank Center. I was lucky enough to catch two tribute bands on a Saturday night and it was one of the best nights out in a while. The acoustics were great and the sound engineer was on top of things the whole night. The beer was cold and reasonably priced. Service was fast and busers were busy all night. The bathroom was clean as well. Cover was only $10 and the two bands were worth way more. Well worth the walk and price of admission.
